At Monitor 360 we have 10 years of experience with qualitative (human) analysis of narratives and have deep in-house expertise of how to identify, analyze, structure and understand narratives in news and social media. We marry that qualitative expertise with deep expertise in NLP and machine learning (deep learning, LSTM, etc.), to bring scale, efficiency, and new insight to our long-standing methods. Through this process we deliver a more nuanced, complex and valuable set of insights to our customers than traditional NLP and analytics companies. Reporting to the Director of Product Management, the Narrative Solutions Product Manager, is responsible for building the client facing Narrative Analytics™ offerings and solutions. The Product Manager will work with internal stakeholders and clients to understand business needs and strategic drivers to create specification, definition, and execution of narrative offerings that address client’s narrative needs. The role will require this PM to understand client perspective, market signals, and deep empathy for narratives and its impact on strategic outcomes.
The Product Manager in this role will work through quite a few unknowns and inadequate data points, which requires experience in working through problems and situations that are inherently fuzzy and amorphous, but still be able to make incremental decisions that will progress the development of new and innovative features. The PM will work with engineers on all the components to create the offering and thus has experience in building full-stack specification. The Product Manager will have to be innovative, tenacious, and solution-oriented, to drive positive outcomes. This position is based in our San Francisco office.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Own the definition, specification, and delivery (along with technical teams) of new client-facing narrative offerings
  • Work on ideation and strategy development with leadership and executive teams to create or refine new offering development
  • Develop and manage the roadmap for the narrative offerings and ensure adherence to the roadmap objectives
  • Own definition and execution of customer facing portal that delivers narrative analytics offerings to the clients
  • Work closely with the engineering team on implementation, to ensure that the offering meets the specified requirements and create success metrics
  • Prioritize the development work, keeping overall goals in mind
  • Interact and collaborate with analysts and client engagement teams, to understand business needs and customer issues
  • Lead the requirements prioritization process across all business stakeholders
  • Measure and communicate the development progress to the executive and leadership teams
  • Drive the Agile scrum process for the platform teams, as a product owner
  • Devise creative approaches to business challenges
  • 6+ years of product management experience, with 3+ years experience building client facing applications and solutions
  • 3+ years experience in developing full-stack specifications that require understanding of not only customer-facing technology, but also backend functions like search, data, and loosely-coupled business logic components
  • Experienced in building client-facing dashboards using open source or paid visualization engines like Tableau, Qlikview, Domo, etc.
  • Experience driving Agile scrum or kanban as the product owner
  • Experience with roadmap management tool like Aha! Is a plus
  • Collaborative team player, with empathy for clients and colleagues
  • Self-starter, who can proactively identify and solve problems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams 
  • Skilled in balancing risk with time-to-market objectives
